eSafety

We offer a full range of eSafety Advice, Training and External Training though the Schools ICT eSafety Manager.

Advice:

We are pleased to provide advice for your eSafety Coordinator or any member of staff on eSafety issues that you may be experiencing, including assistance to remove hate pages created against members of staff or pupils and helping you get the best use of the resources provided by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre as well as dealing with specific issues unique to your school. Parents can make contact with their schools for any eSafety related issue.

Training:

We have three options for schools wishing to further their knowledge and engage with parents. All of the sessions are interactive and questions are positively encouraged. All of the sessions are free of charge for schools purchasing services from Management Information Services.

Staff eSafety awareness:

A one-hour twilight session for all members of the school staff. The intention is to raise the issue of eSafety within school and ensure that everybody is aware of the situation. As well as indicating how education is key to the process and introducing the excellent resources available, the session also explains how to ensure that staff themselves are protected from abuse by pupils and others. For schools who have had the initial training, there is now a new version available.

Parent's eSafety awareness:

A two hour session for parents and carers tailored for your education sector. Encompassing the same key messages of the staff session, we go deeper into the issues and discuss how to protect children when they are using communications technology at home and whilst out and about. Key to any situation is ensuring that your parents and pupils feel confident in reporting any issue regarding inappropriate contact they may have.

CEOP Think U Know:

We aim to deliver around five TUK sessions per year and to ensure that there is at least one accredited eSafety trainer in every school in Sutton. This half-day course provides an in-depth look how children use the internet and will furnish delegates with a very engaging presentation tool to deliver eSafety training to 11 to 16 year olds. Some schools choose to use this presentation when their pupils are about to move to a secondary school. Whilst aimed at the secondary sector the course is open to any person with a professional interest in children and a certificate will be provided when you complete the course. It is also available to serving PCSO's and police officers, social workers, school nurses and others. The course is delivered by a CEOP Ambassador.

External training:

We are able to provide external training for schools and parents outside Sutton - please contact suttonlscb@sutton.gov.uk or Tel: 020 8770 4879 and we will put you in contact with the education safeguarding training team.

Schools purchasing training also qualify free for the next Think U Know training session.
