Welcome to the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership in Sutton
Sutton LSCP is a strategic partnership function under Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023. The guidance sets out that the three statutory safeguarding partners - the Local Authority, Integrated Care Board and the Police have equal and joint responsibility for the Local Safeguarding Arrangements. The Joint Targeted Area Inspection (JTAI) concluded that “the LSCP is an equitable partnership with full engagement from, police, health, social care, and education”. This reflects that we made Education our fourth partner in our Local Arrangements in 2019. Our annual report covers the progress and achievements of the Partnership in the last year.
We are very proud of our comprehensive learning and development offer that can be accessed for free by all professionals and volunteers working with children and families in Sutton. In early 2024, we rolled out the Fire Prevention and Safeguarding Training e-learning module, developed in partnership with the London Fire Brigade, which is available via this link: https://www.virtual-college.co.uk/resources/free-courses/fire-prevention-and-safeguarding-training-course. The Fire Prevention and Safeguarding Toolkit is now live, developed to equip all those who come into contact with people who are at increased risk of fire in their homes with the knowledge and understanding they need to help prevent fatal or serious fire incidents. It is available to access via this link: https://www.firepreventiontoolkit.org.uk/.
