A review of 14 incidents in families where the children are considered at risk of significant harm

The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel has published findings from a review of cases of sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI) in England from June 2018 to August 2019.

In this briefing you’ll find a summary of key findings from the review, including information on:

  • the nature and circumstances of SUDI in families with children at risk
  • how effective local arrangements are for promoting safer sleeping and reducing the risk of SUDI
  • how to improve approaches to embed safer sleeping advice in families with children considered to be at risk of significant harm through child abuse or neglect.
